I believe my 3ggfather, John Barnes, married Hannah Warburton in 1839 at St Mary's in Cheadle. I would be really grateful if an entry for this could be found, especially if it mentions John's family. Many thanks.

On Cheshire BMD site, it says
John Barnes married Ann Wright in 1839 at St Mary's Cheadle

Carole, thanks for putting the extra info that I should have thought to include! :)
Heather, Cheshire BMD is handy for the name and place of the church, but on this occasion it has misspelt 'Barnes' - it is correctly recorded on FreeBMD. But thanks for checking, that's really kind. :)

16th June 1839
John Barnes, 25 Bachelor Cabinet Maker Cheadle Moseley
Father, Moses Barnes Spinner.
Hannah Warburton, 21 Spinster Cheadle Moseley
Father, William Warburton Farmer
John signed his name, Hannah made mark.
Witnesses, George Smith and John Hulse, think both of them are church officials they appear on a number of the records.

Pat, thank you, thank you, thank you! :)
I really jumped for joy with this, not just because it has the name of John's father, but because it's the very name I was hoping for - it means the death record I found for a John Barnes in Falls River, Massachusetts is the very same person.
A wonderful little breakthrough, I really appreciate you looking this up for me!

Your more than welcome, glad it helped.
