Title: Noble, Robert b:1790 & wife Betty (Eliza, Elizabeth) b:1792
Post by: robertdpittman on Sunday 22 July 12 15:04 BST (UK)
I am asking for some help locating information on Robert Noble and Betty (Noble) & family in Ireland.
I have the passenger list from the ship Philadelphia.  They sailed from Londonderry, Ireland and arrived in Philadelphia, PA 22 Jul 1826.

Robert Noble b:1790
Betty (Noble) b:1792 (wife)
Andrew Noble b:1814 (son)
Bella Noble b:1817 (daughter)
Alexander Noble b:1820 (son)
Eliza Noble b:1825 (daughter)
Prudence Noble b:1801 (sister of Robert)

They settled in Philadelphia, PA, USA and the family lived there for many years.

Hi,
The information you are looking for is well before the official registration of births and marriages in Ireland. You will have to depend on church records if these even exist. To find the church we need to have a fairly accurate location for the family, the parish if not the accurate townland.

Regards

I wouldn't normally recommend this site but it might be worth running those names through RootsIreland while they have the free search for July. You have a fairly compleat list so you might get lucky. Not having the mothers surname will make it a bit more difficult but no harm in trying while the free search is running. (Pretty sure you will have to register to search).

Is Betty short for somthing, Eliza is Elizabeth.

Thanks for the advice.  I will keep digging around.  I was hoping someone might know of this family.

I checked out RootsIreland.  Nothing that far back.  Only listings are in Griffith Valuation.  I checked out www.ulsterancestry.com  Lots of Noble families but nothing that confirms this family.

As far as Betty name, in various US census, she is later listed as both Eliza and Elizabeth.
