I am trying to research my husband's Ross ancestry in Scotland and have come to a full stop with his great great great grandfather Donald Ross. I believe Donald was married to Janet McDonald and they lived in Invernesshire/Nairnshire. Their children, I think, were John, Janet, George, Catherine, Jessie, Alexander, Donald and Margaret. I think Donald was a farmer and worked as a bailiff at some point but beyond this I know nothing. I would love to find out more about his life and parentage and that of his wife.
Can anyone help please?

Thanks for that. Could you be a bit more specific please as I was hoping to look at the original sources of this information myself. Did you mean I should search the National Archives directly or is the information available through another website like Ancestry or Scotlands People?
Any help would be appreciated.
