Title: 1911 Warehousemen, Clerks and Drapers School in Purley Surrey
Post by: mdzag on Tuesday 14 August 12 03:28 BST (UK)
I am looking for any information on Leslie William CRANE (b. 1896) and Doris Marion CRANE (b. 1898); both born in Islington.  I believe their parents were William & Marian CRANE.  Is it possible to find out why they were taken there and how long they were there?

Hi

This shows the parents for you..

Baptism Register

Lesley William son of William and Marion Grace Rose CRANE of 29 Freegrove Road. Baptised 17th September 1896

Doris Marion daughter of William and Marion Grace Rose CRANE of 29 Freegrove Road. Baptised 8th May 1898

FreeBMD shows a marriage for a Marian Grace R CRANE in 1909 in Pancras to either Louis STADLER or William John STONE.

Thank you!  :)  I didn't know about Freegrove Road.  I am trying to find out exactly how many children Marian had.  She had my grandfather, Frank Malcolm Crane Davis in 1 May 1905.  I'm trying to connect Marian, Leslie, Doris and my grandfather, Frank.  I do not think she was married to my grandfather's birth father (Frank DAVIS).

Any idea how to find out the marriage date of William and Marian?  I haven't been able to find it yet.  I can't find a death date for him either.

I believe Marian married William John Stone in 1909 as you said, but I cannot find a death date for either of them OR the name of her parents.  Someone suggested that her maiden name is ARTHY.

The school itself was a charity run by one of London's livery companies.

Can anyone find out when William Crane died?  It would have been before 1905.
