I am trying to trace the death of John Smith REID ( my grandfathers brother) and his wife ISABELLA (born May 1900 Bathgate Scotland).
They emigrated to the USA in May 1925 with their son and settled in Detroit Michigan and he worked in the Kelsay Hayes wheel plant as an electric welder.
In 1940 they were living at 60 Margaret St West Detroit
Are there any online BMD for michigan that are free
Any help or information about this couple would be really appreciated

Is there anyway of checking the above death of Isabel Reid her birth date is about right ,but i cannot reconcile the B in the name her full name was Isabella Muirhead Annan REID. I have also found another death in Macomb county on 7 Jan 1997 for an Isabella REID.
Is there a way of checking that one.

The above Isabella Reid was born in 1917, much later than yours.
Maybe a slight idiosnycrasy in the Michigan death record that "B" was the middle initial. The SSDI didn't give a middle initial.

SSN was issued in Michigan (1956)
The border crossing in reply 3 gave her birth date and the address matched the 1940 census.

for clearing that up for me. I would love to know what happened to her husband i can only presume that due to the name John Reid being common we will not find him. Only chance would have been if he used his full name John smith REID

Having the birth date meant we could check the SSDI - however, afraid he did not show on the SSDI (Social Security Death Index) which was up and running by about 1962, so that would lead me to believe John died before 1962 :'(

In regards to John's post about John S. Reid and Isabella Reid's death, I concur that Sandra's post of the dates are correct. I am John and Isabella's granddaughter. In the late 70's, I visited John and Cecilia Bookless frequently. If you would like to know any more, please contact me via message.

Hi, I'm looking for John, his grandfather was the brother of my grandfather, John Smith Reid. He was married to Isabella. They came to Detroit Michigan but I have no idea what year. Their youngest daughter was my Mum. Isabella.

You do worry if people are playing games. I searched for John Smith Reid
A Person named Shawn 315 popped up on Friday 19 April 13 then disappeared again
On Tuesday 03 April 18 reappeared. I sent to their private email some details of John Smith Reid and how he fitted into the Reid family.
Then Shawn315 disappears again no reply to emails or anything.
