Hi, the above born Sept Q 1896, last "seen" 1911 census she was at 14 - 24 Kirkdale Street, Sydenham, Lewisham was 15 and a Drapers Apprentice.. No death or marriage details to 1966. However we have "found" a person of the same name in a musical Bitter Sweet on Broadway 1929 - 1930 anyone got any hints on how/who we would contact someone to see if this is our girl. Are there records of people going to New York - I would presume it was after WW1..... Also would think for her to be in that she may have been in the theater in London before going to NY.... On An****ry a Mildred Allen Letts is showing up off and on the electoral registers from 1938-1958, also a Mildred A Letts in the phone books for London 1935-1950.

Hi in March 1968 Hove 5h 784 a Mildred A Letts married an Ambrose N Spong
Death Mildred Allen Spong birth 29th June 1896 Death March 1978 Worthing Sussex v 18 page 2353 aged 81
Additional, Mildred was the 3rd wife of Ambrose Noel Spong his death is recorded as born 26th December 1888 (it was in Steyning Sussex) death June 1976 Worthing v 18 page 1912 aged 87

There's a Mildred Letts - occupation "theatrical" - returning from Montreal in 1930 to 2 Broom st, London. Gives her age as 26 (ie b 1904) - suppose it could be her stage age!

Hi again that Mildred Letts occ Actress, departed 5th October 1929 Southampton to New York on the Lancastria with 31 other members of the "Bitter Sweet Party" she was aged 26, her address in the UK was 29, Old Bond Street

Thanks so much. I had her born in the Sept Q and then on her death it gives a birth date of June and I thought hhhhmmmmmmmmmmmm so now you have confirmed other information we had that it was actually a later date. Thanks!

there is a death in 1962 in hove sussex of a frederick.h.childs aged 76 so born c 1886
6 yrs later mildred marries mr spong in hove,sussex

frederick was born in suffolk in 1886 and moved to london between 1901-1909 he then married a margaret harrison at westminster on the 15/11/1909

Hi again Glenda, it is entirely possible that Mildred was born 29th June, registered in Sept qtr ie July/August/September, but baptised in August, remember the baptism is not neccessarily on the same day/month as the birth!

they are on ancestry but only go up to 1968 mr spong died 1976

Isabel AGNES McIntyre LAING was wife 2 (partner 3) they had 4 children one of them ERIC born 1925 is still alive he lives in Nottingham, he had Jillian and Paula who are the ones we know. Another Child of that union was Harold Alan he had one daughter Wendy still alive(didnt meet her in UK but a couple of the NZ boys did) and another Hazel Lynda LETTS not so long ago passed who has a daughter Joanna who lives in Brighton The other child Miram died aged 17.
Although she is no blood relative to you are you interested in what I have on her? The "boys" here in NZ's father is Mildreds half brother. As are those mentioned above. Let me know what you want to do. Glenda
