I am trying to get information about Alfred Cumbers who was born I believe in 1844, and about his maternal and paternal family.
I believe he had a lot of siblings.

No Alfreds born around 1844 in the Romford District.
Only 2 on the census years, one born 1826-9 and one 1859-61
do you know any sibling names?

The only thing that I can find in my files is for a baptism for an Alfred Cumbers at St Edwards Church Romford on 7th October 1838, mothers name given as Emma Cumbers (no maiden name) and no fathers name recorded.
Sorry that it may not be of much help and that this may not even be the one that you are looking for as there were a few Cumbers in Romford at this period of time who may or may not be related.

Firstly, thanks for all of your fantastic help.
Lostris, I thought it was the date because of other information I had seen somewhere on the Internet. The problem seems to be so many Alfreds in the family tree, and the fact that they reoccur through different generations. Also, sometimes Alfred is the second given name, and that is included too as the name that they used.
Now I have to go through the Cumbers side of the line, and put in all of this new information that you have all so generously shared with me.
