My great grandmother was born in Carmarthenshire. Her name on my grandfather Reg Emery (b.1899 Bristol) marriage and death certificates was Annie Marks. I have never been able to find any information on her except the 1901 census, so I got my grandfather's brother Douglas Emery's birth record from England and his mothers name on it was Catherine nee Marks. (My great grandfather's name was William Robert Emery he was born in Cardiff) I can remember my grandfather calling a lot of the females in the family Annie so was this a common nickname?
Thanks Tracy

So Reg Emery's dad was William Emery( b 1863ish) Cardiff. (Electrical Engineer)
& Reg's mum was dead by 1911. Which death was hers?

According to a tree on Ancestry (yes, I know! Treat with caution), Annie Catherine Marks was:
born 1865 Carmarthenshire, Cruwys Morchard (??? That's in Devon)
Married William Robert Emery
died 1906 London, March qtr, Lambeth
1881 census has this possibility?

Amongst the 13 boarders, all drapers assistants and milliners at David Morgan & Co, is:

Annie Louisa Marks married Thomas Williams in 1884
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/JV3Z-R87
1891 census RG12/4391 folio 142 pg 43 shows the couple with daughter Olive who was baptised in 1887
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/VFHG-N4X
but there's a death reg
Olive Annie Williams 6 sept qtr 1894 Cardiff vol 11a pg 120
1901 shows Thomas Williams living with his sister but enumerated as married RG13/4986 folio 187 pg 19 so there may not be a marriage between William Robert Emery and Annie L.
