I wonder if anyone can help me break through a brick wall please?
I know that Jonathan DOVEY was born 1782 (from 1841 census) and was married to Nancy ?? b.1795 (again from census) I have found 8 children to them, 4 of whom were living with them on the '41 census where they were all living at Hurcott Hall and Jonathan was recorded as a farmer.
I could not find Jonathan or Nancy on the '51 census.
I cannot find the birth of Jonathan, nor the marriage of Jonathan and Nancy to ascertain her maiden name. All the children were born in Kidderminster, and the entire family this far back are from that area, so I assume they will have been born and married in the vinicity.
Any help very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Cynn :)

Hi,
Jonathan may have died as Nancy has remarried to a John Broadfield 19 March 1844 Kidderminster.
1851 census she can be found with William 27, Maria 23 and Ann 21 Dovey and new husband John
class HO107 piece 2038 folio 606 page 17.

Well spotted Claire although I've just searched BMD and can't find his death there.
It's really his birth I'm hoping for, so that I can get his parents, and marriage to find Nancy's maiden name and hopefully parents.
I've tried Find my Past, Ancestry, and Familysearch but no luck so far.
Thanks again

Many thanks to you both, Claire and Jim.
I love little extras like that Claire. It brings the people to life. :)
Still no birth or marriage? I know I'm greedy. ;) :D
Thanks again
