Title: 'Rouse' family Bible
Post by: salone1 on Sunday 16 September 12 04:34 BST (UK)
Hi I'm new,

I bought a giant grubby old bible from a book stall in Manchester, England UK in about 1987.

I've only relatively recently discovered someone has inscribed family names dates of births and  deaths inside it, starting from:

" John Rouse the son of Williams Rouse born September 7th 1794...ending with... Hannah Haigh nee Rouse died ? 2nd 1900 aged 80 years."
there doesn't seem to be any place names, but it seems anyone with an interest will have lots of info to establish links  (I think  ???...being a novice)

If anyone is interested in more details give me a shout!

Can you give some more information on the names and dates of the Rouses in the Bible? Are any locations mentioned at all? Thanks.

A quick look for Hannah Haighs of the right age, in 1891 census, seems to indicate they are all in Yorkshire.

Likewise, there are numerous Hannah Haigh deaths in 1900 - but all in Yorkshire.

Hi There,

This is a very (very) late response to your post, sorry  :-\
I have just discovered that the Rouse family is related to mine through the Haigh family, also in the bible I believe.
Can you please forward my email address (should you no longer have it) to whoever has the bible now as I am interested in the family information it contains.
Thanks in advance.
My email is (*)
Cheers for now,
Gary
