Hi in my efforts to trace an ancestor on Familysearch, i got referred to Cheshireschoolsrecords1796-1950.When i type that in i end up on Rootschat. Do i actually get to look at these records or do i just post a question ?

Hi,
Just tried this....went to familysearch.org then clicked on United Kingdom and Ireland. Then scrolled down to England, Cheshire School Records 1796-1950. Clicked on that and typed in John Smith (there was sure to be one!) and got several results.

Must have a go at that and see if I can find myself. ;D ;D
Modified - Nope, I'm not listed. Lots of the records I looked at seemed to be Church schools or else not in the area of Cheshire where I went to school. I'm going to look for some g.grandparents and older tomorrow. As they could all read and write, I'm sure they went to school.

Couldn't find mine. Edith and Anna Florence Heise who would have been at school in Poulton cum Seacombe around 1900 to 1910.

There seemed to be a lot of Stockport Sunday school records.

Hi
The link below has a list of schools. A quick look through suggests the majority are Church schools and they are possibly from the C of E Archives at Chester.
