Apparently there are 2 graveyards in Kiltealy; that is hard to believe since it is so small. I hear people refer to the Old Kiltealy graveyard. There is a fairly new graveyard right next to St. Patrick church. Does anyone know where the Old Kiltealy graveyard is located (other than Kilteally:) Does anyone have a hunch as to where people would have been buried if they lived in Kiltealy (1890-1920)
Thanks

You can see two graveyards in the town on the current OSI maps. One beside the RC church, the other just up the road. The one beside the church looks to be the older of the two, as it appears on the older maps.

Thanks Shane,
I was there in 2005 and only saw the cemetery right next to the church. The church is fairly modern and the graves were newer, at least the ones I saw.
Thanks for the map

There are definitely Jordan's in the area as they are cousins of my family. Caroline (Mothers maiden name Flynn)
And as for the graveyard the old is in the grounds of St Patrick's Church and the newer was donated to the church by the Bowe family back in the day 50's - 60's and is up the road opposite the pub. my mum and all her family so far are buried there 1960 and beyond. all of them are from Cill Tiele (Kiltealy)

Hi Caroline,
My gg-grandmother was Bridget Jordan @1840 iish. She married Edward Byrne and they had 8 children that I am aware of ...Elizabeth, Ann, Mary, Catherine, Bridget, Johanna, John, and Michael. A few of them moved to Chicago, Illinois. Couldn't locate their marriage certificate. Perhaps, iif your mum has time and at her convenience, she could ask.
Thank you

Have you checked for church records here?

Kiltealy is in the RC parish of Ballindaggin which has been in existence way before the parish records start. There are no church records for Ballindaggin in this time frame. I have been searching or years. I have also search other RC parish records in the near area>no luck.
Thanks
