Anyone on Carlow thread have a James Nolan and Sarah Cahill (@1845) connection? They were married in Myshall in 1870. Sarah's father was Timothy.
Also looking for anyone who has a Thomas Gibson-Bridgid Tool connection. They were married in 1882 in bangelstown. Her father was Thomas. I am sure they had children but don't have any information.
Also looking for a Mary Curran (1865) and Edward Neville connection. She was born in Bunclody and Edward was from Coonogue. Her father was James Curran. She had 2 sisters that I know of Johanna and Margaret.
Just looking to see if anyone else is searching for these families
Thanks

this is to give you an idea of where the father's were living during the 1848-1864 time period and where in the parish registers for county Calow and co Wexford to look for the births of the people you seek. You can go to your nearest LDS(Latter Day Saints) library and view the county Carlow parish registers as they have them all on microfilm.Hope this helps,Kim

Hey Blemdookie
Thank you so much for this information; most kind of you to go through all this trouble for me. I really appreciate it.

Hi Barb, I came across this the other day and wonder could it be any relation to your Cahill family.
Marriage:
Timothy Cahill
married
Mary Mulligan
on 6 February 1807
in Borris,co Carlow
as the name Timothy is not widely used as a forename, this is very possibly Sarah's father. Not necessarily her mother tho'. It may be Tim's 1st wife perhaps. just thought i'd send it along in case. Kim

Hi
Thanks for the information. I will keep it in my folder. I show Dennis as Timothy's father, but I bet this Timothy is somehow related. I stopped searching for several months as I got tired of the brick wall....but this renews me
Thanks

Hi again Barb, found another bit that appears to be relevant;
Marriage:
6 February 1797
Dinis Chahil and ------- Kelly
Borris parish
found in marriages 26 Jan 1782- 4 Dec 1813
* in the parish register the first name of wife is illegible.

Hi Kim
Thanks again for the information. Let me ask you a question. The Borris registers seem to be missing from 1813 to 1825 which really kills me. Do know if they exist and were not photographed or if they just don't exist. I looked at them at 1 time and they were not on the film
Thanks
Barb

Barb, the registers between 1813-1825 are not microfilmed in the National Library. They appear to be missing which is such a shame. I will ask the library to see if there may be some evidence of them elsewhere but the odds are slim. Quite a few of the records are either missing or totally illegible for that time period. I have transcribed as many of the marriages as I could read of the Borris parish register from 1792 onwards. In saying that many people will still wind up disappointed to not find their own families. My understanding is that they want to digitise the registers but when that will happen is anyones guess. Kim

You are a saint for transcribing that information for others. I looked through the Borris/Myshall registers; it was depressing to say the least and almost impossible to read many of the entries.
I don't know what parish holds these (Borris) registers, but is it possible to contact the parish just to see if the records exist? If they don't exist, at least everyone would know. I would gladly do it if I knew who it was
Thanks again
