Some time ago I remember seeing something about access to newspaper archives but I cannot remember where.  ??? There was an article in February or March 1952 that I would be interested in seeing.  Any suggestions please?  :)

http://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/ has the Herts Mercury but only 1800-1899

Hertsdirect.org has (searchable) summary listings from that newspaper and others from 1758-2012

Thank you so much for your reply.  I have added the British Newspaper archive to my favourites list in case I need to look up something else.  The article I was trying to get was printed in 1952 and although I have the original from the newspaper it is now getting a bit faded. :(

I have checked the hertsdirect listings but it is not on there unfortunately.

I think I will type it out so that at least others will be able to read it - it tells the 150 year history of a public house run by my ancestors from 1800 until 1952.
