Peter
-
I have those to 1678.The early ones don't give additional info. such as son of...
I'm trying to link the Bridgnorth Easthope's with those of the Parish of Easthope.
jim
-
I would suspect that the Bridgnorth Easthopes are linked to the Benthall / Madeley ones.

Please could you check if there are any TITTENSOR or similar entries on the Burgess lists.
There were a number of Tittensor cabinet makers around the 1840s near St Marys and later in Wyle Cop in Shrewsbury having moved from Newcastle under Lyme.
Thanks for your help,
Paul

Hi John,
My forebear, William Newell, was admitted as a hereditary Burgess in 1721 - is that correct? Also, could you tell me the names of any other Newel/Newell/Newill/Newall etc. Burgesses; I'm told they were descendants of Richard Newell of Worthen, in the time of Henry VIII. Thank you!
Best regards, Melissa

Richard Newall (40/- paid 12d subsidy) of Cleobury Borough (1525) is the only Richard listed in the 1524-7 Lay Subsidy.

Darn, so it's just an incorrect rumour! Thank you so much for checking for me - that's extremely kind of you. Hope you had a good holiday.
