I would be very grateful if any kind researcher with a copy of the 1863 Cape Almanac could give me the occupation details for Robert Rose Cowderoy. Robert was declared bankrupt afew years later in Sth Africa and was declared bankrupt on several occasions after he travelled to Australia. I would be interested to know if there are any entries in the almanac for the surname TIBBY :)

1862 & 1863:
Cowderoy, Mrs Robert, 3 Constitution Street
I checked 1860 - 1866 (1864 missing) for both Cowderoy & Tibby. There is a Tibly (not Tibby) in the one for 1860:
Tibly, George (6 police) station house

Hello sandy! I think that u have located Robert's wife. I was hoping to find zero beet to get an idea why he travelled from England to SA. He went bankrupt in SA before coming to Australia. The TIBY family I'm searching for are a bit of a mystery. Samuel was in the army - and Robert met his wife over there. I was hoping to learn Samuel's wife's name ( the mother in law of Robert )
