Hi, Looks like there might be three pubs in New Radnor, if I have got that right?
Radnor Arms, Forest Inn and Red Lion Inn.
Have you tried contacting the Landlord of the Pub in question?  I once went to a Pub in East Knoyle, Wiltshire, where a relative was born, and the Landlord there had quite a bit of information about the place.  He also gave me the name of the Brewery who owned it and I wrote to them, and they had in their records the name of my relative, who ran the place from around 1933 to 1953, so you might get lucky if you get in touch with the Pub in question.

Regards Diana

There would also be at that time The Kings Arms and The Eagle Hotel.

Never ended up looking into Mr Swain, im sure from what family say the original pub was the one I was looking at, although finding the publicans names from those two pube would be interesting also.

The Radnor Arms landlord was Bill Swain during the second word war [1939 -45] and soon after the war he emigrated to Australia.
