Hi everyone
I wonder if somebody would be able to help decipher the bride's address on this marriage certificate from 1843?
The marriage took place in Lincoln, and it was by licence, not banns.
I would appreciate any help here. :)

At first glance it looks like 10 Dock Walls, Lincoln.

Well, it seems as though everyone is in agreement so far!
I had deciphered the '10 Dock' correctly, but was unsure of the last word.
Does anybody know if there was such a place in Lincoln at that time?
Many thanks for your help to those who have replied. :)

have you looked on francisfrith website or any old maps of that time might give an indication to modern day placing?.
-
theres some photos of area here
http://www.francisfrith.com/lincoln/photos/
and some people put stories on there may be worth a read?
-
Have you found them on any census where were they living then?
-
If the registration district was Hull, how could they be marrying in Lincoln? ???
-
From 1851 onwards, the family were living in Lincoln, Bail Gate and The High Street, where William had a shop.
I do not know anything of Eliza Paterson's roots, ( or Cornforth as she was born ) so do not know where her family came from.
Thank you, I will check the Francis Frith link, that may prove useful. :)

Does the cert not say 1859?
-
Ah It is another number my mistake :-[.
-
Apologies here, ( Geoff E ) if I have mislead anybody.
I am not from the area, so have slightly muddled my posts :-[
William Lawrence came from Lincoln and lived in Lincoln for all of his married life, but yes, you are quite right, the marriage took place in the parish of Holy Trinity, Kingston-Upon-Hull, so I have probably been asking people to check in the wrong area! Oops!
Does anybody know if there was a street by the name of ' Dock Walls' in Hull?
-
There is dock street according to google may have once been known as dock walls?
-

-
