Title: Coroner / Death / Railway / Leaton 1929 / Edward Perry
Post by: bcd on Thursday 10 January 13 21:06 GMT (UK)
Hi

An ancester died "on or near the railway crossing at Leaton" 4th January 1929. I think that the death certificate reads "due to head being cut off by a passing railway train" and then I cannot decipher the verdict of the coroners court. Is it possible to get copies of these, or possibly newspapers from this date?
Thanks
Clare

Hi,

Survival of Inquest files is patchy but local newspapers would probably have reported the event.  The county archives should be able to help:

Might be something in the Railway Inspector files at the National Archives.
