Looking for any information on the following.
Jean Waitt bap. 1742 Spott, Catherine Waitt bapt. 1744 Dunbar & John Wait bapt. 1751 Spott.

Parents Thomas Wait? & Isobell Denival/Denaval/Dalnaval, married 1742 Spott.

Checked the children's births on FreeReg but no result there. I am not seeing the marriage of Thomas and Isobell either.
Did you get the Old Parish Records from Scotland Peoples website?

Got them off "Familysearch", am going to try "Scotlandspeople" next but don't hold out much hope with the change of surnames for both parties.

Hi Barry,

To look for them on SP, you can use wildcards to bring all names i.e. wa*t*. That should cover the 3 possibilities listed.

I will check on "Familysearch", I never saw them previously.

Hi Barry,

On my search on Family Search, I found a James Wait, born 25 Sep 1748 at Spott, East Lothian, parents were Thomas Wait and Issobel Dalnavel. I never found your 3 children somehow, and I also did a parent search on Thomas and all flavours of Issbel, and still returned James only.

Hi Barry,

I went back on FreeReg, I have now found a Joan (not Jean) Waitt at Spott, baptised 06 Jun 1742, parents were Thomas Waitt and Isoboll Donovarl (sic).

I have found a marriage on FreeReg, of a Christopher Guiler to an Isobel Dalnavel at Oldhamstocks, near to Spott, on 29 Jun 1759, could this be a remarriage for Isobel. I can see other Dalnavel marriages in the area.

Hi Tom,
Thomas Watt & Isobell Denivail married 26 6 1742 Spott. (scots), 4 children Jean,Catherine,James & John.
Thomas died Dunbar 21/12/1796 West Barns, or ca.1798 Dunbar (ran out of credits). no sign of Isobell, so perhaps she did remarry.

Hello Barry,

Re Isobel marrying Christopher Guiller.
Spott graveyard has a grave for Andrew Guiller who died at Dunbar in 1771. He was 59. Son Robert also mentioned. Reason I am mentioning this is, there are two graves next to this grave where the names are worn away. Long shot but you never know!
