Hello I am new to Roots so appreciate any help/advice given. I am trying to trace info about my grandfather George Greig Dow who was born in Glasgow. I know he had sisters but cannot find any info about them. I am also trying to find info about my great x4 paternal grandfather Lawrence Skene Dow who lived in Leith and married a Rebecca Turnbull.
Any info will be much appreciated.

its ok found him in the 1901 census with wife christina age 28 and son george greig son age 1

pay to view site but indexes free. Scottish records give more info so the marriage record may well have their parents names /mothers maiden names as well. records can usually be saved / printed off.

Hi, its been a long time since you posted. Lawrence Skene Dow is my 5 x great uncle. He had 9 brothers and 3 sisters [Each of the siblings had family surnames as middle names] I have an extensive tree going back several generations from Lawrence, as well as a full tree on Lawrences own descendants. I am descended from Lawrence's brother James. Please get in touch and we can exchange information
