Title: 1841 / 1851 Where was Esther Slack

Hi all

I need a fresh pair of eyes on this one please.

Esther Parrot married George Slack in Arnold, Nottingham in 1797. George died in 1825 aged 58 and Esther died in 1854 aged 80.

So where was Esther hiding in 1841 & 1851?  I've given up as I'm going cross-eyed.

Hi the only one I can see in 1841 is aged 70 b Cheshire with a Harriett Humphrey
Census ref HO107/131/ 2/6 /6

Where was she born?

I don't know where she was born, that is what I am trying to find out, so desperate to find her in 1851.

No she didn't remarry.  She was buried as Esther Slack 30.11. 1854 at Arnold.  As far as I can see they stayed in Arnold after they married  and their children were baptised in Arnold.

I think the 1841 entry that Keyboard found may be right.  They did have a daughter Harriett born 1812  and I have found a marriage for a Harriett Slack & Isaac Humphry which I will try to follow up. 

Their children were
Sarah 1801
George 1803
Anne 1806
Maria 1809
Harriett 1812
George 1822

all baptised in Arnold

George and Esther's marriage is on FreeREG and says the following

30.7.1797 at St Mary's Arnold Nottinghamshire George Slack of Arnold to Esther Parrot of Basford by licence

It doesn't mean to say that Esther was born in Basford but it might be a starting point

Further information on FreeREG on the kids (hoping we might find Esther with them in 1851)

Sarah married Samuel Annable 1.10.1820 at St Marys (found in 1851 no Esther)
Ann married Richard Bishop 16.6.1826 at St Mary's (found in 1851 no Esther)
Maria marred John Woodward 9.2.1834 St Marys (found in 1851 no Esther)

one son George buried 24.4.1803 also possibly Phoebe buried 25.6.1815 aged 3 years 6 months

The Harriett Humphrey in the 1841 isnt right Harriet is with William in 1841 HO107/855/3 and the kids baptisms are on FreeREG
