Title: Jane/Jean Foulis-death
Post by: blamcca on Sunday 31 March 13 02:52 BST (UK)
Jane/Jean Foulis was born in 1839 in Deerness, Orkney to James Foulis and Betsy Craigie. In 1881 she was living alone at her father's (now deceased) farm, listed as the farmer (quite odd for a woman of the time I would think). In 1901 she was living with her sister Mary Hourie. However I can't find a death for her, can anyone else??

There is a death for a Jane Foulis age 81 in Morningside Edinburgh in 1921.  Her parents were James Foulis and Elizabeth Craigie.

Big Orkney/Shetland community in Leith which spread out. She probably had relatives there.

Skoosh.

As she's missing from Orkney in the 1911 census, I would suggest looking for her in Edinburgh.  It might give you a clue as to why she moved.
