Searching for a birth or marriage for a James Falconer b. 1817/1818 to Alexander Falconer and Catherine Smith.
Later James married Elizabeth Sutherland and moved to Canada. Any help would be appreciated.

Where did you get your information about James? Family Search doesn't seem to produce anything, but there are these entries:
John Falconer m Elizabeth Smith (Dyke, 1802)
Alexander Falconer m Katherine Smith (Forres 1816)

Hi, Ancestry.com info. 1861 Census Kingston, ON CA age 43 wife E As well as their kids there is my relative Annie age 25. Older of each gender of his kids have same name as Annie's parents (Alex Falconer & Catherine Smith m. at Forres 1816)
1870 28 Feb. Kngston, ON CA early death at 52 b. Scotland 1817/1818 No parent names or birth place on certificate.
1871 Census widow Eliz. with some of the kids Her death certificate in 1909 listed only her father's last name = Sutherland
Scotland's people gave me Annie's parents as Alexander Falconer & Catherine Smith as well as Bapt. for Annie's other siblings William, Alexander & Mary. I've been trying to figure James Falconer's relationship to Annie. His age could have him as an older brother b. shortly after parents m. in 1816. Family seemed to migrate from Forres through the Black Isle, Dornock and Thurso. Alex worked as a music teacher and later as a precentor and then stone cutter.
So just trying to piece together gr. grandma's story. Hope it makes sense. Thanks, J

What a confusing place ! im looking at James FALCONER who married Ann McARTHUR but then their grandson married Janet FRASER dau of Alexander FRASER and Katharine SMITH
But then when i look at other generations the names are repeating and marriages all over the place
