Can anyone help?
My grandparents had their wedding photograph taken by Ledinghams of Aberdeen in 1937. We would like to obtain a copy of the photograph but Ledinghams don't exist anymore - any clues as to where we could get this photo?
Thanks,
Lindsay

The title popped up me as I read your message board.
Ledingham - photographer is imprinted in the mind of anyone who lived in Grantown-on-Spey - up to 1960s I guess.
Could be a connection. The old man was Alex Ledingham and the son who took over later was Sandy.
Perhaps of little use to you in tracing a copy of old photos - but it did prompt some memories in me (and any Grantown readers).

I'm afraid I can't help either, but being another native of Grantown on Spey, the title of your thread jumped out at me too.
I left Grantown in 1972, and to my knowledge Ledinghams was still going then.
I'll try to remember to ask my dad if he knows what happened to them.
Regards
Ellen.

Nice to hear from and old Grantonian! We left in 1965 from the Bakery at the top of the High St. Only one connection remains in G on S - my late sister's husband.
cheers

Do any of you Grantonians remember a Harvest Queen called Irene Gault?

Hi There
Ledingham the Photographer in Aberdeen was my grandfather. To my knowledge nothing remains of his photographic work except for any privately owned prints.

Hello Lynn281,
I was just looking through several Ledingham photographs of my paternal grandfather, John Menzies, and his parents, who lived in Aberdeen through to the 1920s before immigrating to Canada. I am fascinated to know that your grandfather was the photographer. Do you know whether the studio also created bichromated portraits, or portraits in which paint was laid over photographic prints?
All best regards - Grant Menzies
