Hi Biggles
Spoke to a farmer friend who lives up that way,Barwheys is near the village of Mossblown and Broadwood is on the Annbank to Coylton road.
The Hopkins family had Barwheys for years and McHarg has been at Broadwood for a few generations.
Friend will speak to his Dad soon so may get some more info, sorry its not much help.

Hi Bigals.
We are related. My 4th great grandparents were John Ritchie and Jane McHowal (various spellings). My third great grandfather, their son, was Robert who married Margaret McQueen. I think I only have the same info as you bit you may like to see my tree on Tribal Pages. I don't know whether you can hide your email address on here but if you can find a way to do it, then I can send you an invitation to see my tree.
Best regards,
Sheila Jackson.

Looks like Bigals hasn't returned.
I was going to suggest these websites for St. Quivox.
www.Ayrshire.roots.co.uk It has 1821 census for St. Quivox and photo of church.

Edit: First 2 links didn't connect. They came up when I typed the addresses in search box.

Apologies for using this website, but I could not find your current email address.
Recently, I found out to my surprise that Angus Donald Muir aka McGavock aka McGavick had been married twice. His first wife, Mary Theresa Cronin, predeceased him. They had at least one son, William John McGavock, and could have descendants still living.
If this is news to you, I can send you more details. If not, you can perhaps send me more details.
