Title: Auchinteric - where is it
Post by: barbatalice on Wednesday 03 July 13 08:05 BST (UK)
I have a baptism for Isabella TAYLOR August 1840 at Rothesay, Bute
OPR Births 558/00 0040 0160
The father's details are given as Archibald TAYLOR, fisherman,  Auchinteric (see attachment)

I can't find Auchinteric
Does anyone know where this is?

Hi ,

The 1841 Census has it as Auchinterrie Cottage Rothesay Landward(FreeCEN transcription).

Thanks ev
I've found it
The letter I thought was c must be e
Seems strange that a fisherman would live so far from the sea
The map link is great.  I'll be on it for a while I think
