Hi Carole,
I can't see the PALZEAIRD name transcribed as this prior to your ancestor Francis in 1901 or history of the name prior to this date.
Just to ilustrate how names can change with accents, spelling and mistranscription I posted before a possible siblings/family of Frances as below including a John born 1872 in Jersey.
Possible in 1881 with Jean/John remarried again listed as a stone dresser and living in St Peter Port
PALZIER, Jean B Married 52 Stone Dresser b Cherbourg, France
PALZIER, Ann M Wife Married 27 b Cherbourg, France
PALZIER, John B Son M 7 b Jersey, Channel Islands
PALZIER, Anostarie Daughter 5 b Guernsey, Channel Islands
PALZIER, Charles Son 3 St Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands
PALZIER, James E F Son 1 St Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands
RG11; Piece: 5627; Folio: 9; Page: 12
In 1901 there is the possible same John as below listed as a mate/sailor on sailing ketch Sirius of Guernsey
PALZEARD, John Mate Married 29 1872 b Jersey, Channel Islands
Good Luck Kay
