Hi, can anyone tell me how to go about finding ancestors buried in Milltown Cemetery? Are the records online? Contact cemetery?
I am looking for:
Hugh Dunniece (Duniece, Denniece and various spellings) died/buried 20 July 1962
Kathleen Dunniece Duniece, Denniece and various spellings) died/buried 1 Aug 1945
And if anyone has any info on the Dunniece (various spelling) family, as well as Hugh & Kathleen, noted above, that would be fantastic

Hi,
I have found a record of the marriage of Hugh Dunniece to Kathleen Gallagher in Londonderry Roman Catholic Church in 1919. As the church was in the parish of Templemore I think the church would have been the Long Tower Church.

The records for Milltown are not online but there's a close-up of the lettering on the gravestone here- the dates on the stone are the dates of death not burial:

If this is the correct Hugh Dunniece-
1911 census shows a Hugh Dunniece age 20 with family- Hugh born in the city but 2 sisters born in Scotland:
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Londonderry/Londonderry_No__5_Urban/Benvarden_Avenue/605825
1901 census for same family shows they mist have been back and forth between Scotland and Ireland a few times since older brother born Scotland:

Still following the above family-
Birth registration for Hugh in 1890-
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FBD7-ZZ4
Online family tree (McCool family)- gives Hugh Dunniece and wife Susan Boyle married 1 Nov.1882 Co., Donegal. Daughter Mary (only child listed) born 19 Jan.1885 The Lindens, Bothwell and died 7 Apr.1971 at 43 Gilmour Place, Edinburgh. Four children listed for Mary and her husband Jeremiah McCool.

If you can explain exactly what sort of information you are looking for we might be able to help further.

Anything and everything really. I suppose about their married life, any children? etc
I'm being vague, sorry. Really anything at all.

The online civil registration index only goes up to 1921 for Northern Ireland counties and since the parents married in 1919 it's quite possible their children (if any) could still be alive.

Came across this site for Milltown gravestone photos recently- looks like new details still being added so don't forget to check back periodically if you don't first find any relatives. If you hoover mouse over photo it gives a label with the surname.
