Hi. We are trying to work out which family member this is. We would like to know if it's possible to work out the date, and if anything can be identified from the nurses uniform she is wearing.

I don't have the photo at hand at the moment, but it has an embossed stamp on the front with the photographers address - 96 Barking Road, East Ham.

I am almost certain she is a St. Johns V.A.D. nurse.

Although the brassard was normally worn on the left sleeve and not as in your pic.

Yes, it does indeed. I take it the photographer printed it reversed? I've found an entry of a medal card for a Eliza Smith - Voluntary Aid Detachment Corps on the National Archives site. This matches one of the two people we thought it may be.
