Title: Searching for HANDFORD family - emigrated 1910/1911
Post by: Morannes on Thursday 08 August 13 19:53 BST (UK)
Trying to find out what happened to Horace West Handford and his wife Emily (nee Garside).
He emigrated in 1910 to Winnipeg, Manitoba saying he intended to farm.  She emigrated the following year with their children Eric Horace Handford and Mary Doreen listed as Molly on passenger list - it says she is going to Moose Jaw, Skas. to join her husband.  She is a school teacher.
Also when Horace went in 1910 there is also a Harold Garside listed on the list next to him which could be Emily's brother.  Any further information after 1910/1911 would be appreciated or details of where to find out more.  Many thanks.
Sue

There is also an Eric Handford in Yorkton, Saskatchewan in 1962, 1963 and 1965. There is a Mrs. Goldie/Goldy Handford listed with him as well.

There is also a Mrs. Goldie Handford in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan in 1974. She's listed by herself.

Have the name of a daughter and her husband but not sure if they are deceased, could still be living in Prince Albert Saskatchewan.  The daughter's husband was born 6 th January 1922 in Golburn, Saskatchewan. The couple have 2 daughters.
The couple were still living December 30 th 2006 when the husband (with his wife) was named  in the Obituary of a brother in the Expositor - (Dec/30/2006)

THANK YOU to everyone who has posted a reply so far - that's amazing.  Emily was my husband's great, grand aunt and I shall now be able to add all this to the family tree.  It is lovely to hear they made a new life in Canada and that they had so many grandchildren - I would love to be able to track them down!!
Thanks again for all help given so far.
Regards.   Sue

I am also looking for information on Horace West Handford and Emily Garside. My grandmother was Molly (Mary Handford Graychik) her husband was Casimer Grajczyk changed to Graychik when they emigrated to the U.S.A in late 40's early 1950's.

Hello Melanee - I began this post some time ago now.  I haven't done any research on this tree for a while though.  As I mentioned Emily Garside was the sister of my husband's great grandfather.  I have done a lot of research on the Garside's so please feel free to ask me questions about them.  Bear with me though whilst I go back to the tree and reacquaint myself with the information.  Best wishes Sue
