Title: George Gibb/s
Post by: beansgram on Saturday 10 August 13 14:44 BST (UK)
I am looking for anything about George Gibb/s born in Kincardineshire between 1850 and 1860 we think.  He married Annie Hickey who was born in Ireland about 1867.  Looking for parents, siblings, and when he left Scotland any help is greatly appreciated.  thank you   Kathi

In the 1851 census which you can find on FreeCEN there is a George Gibb (b.1848) at Berryhill, Muchalls.
On Findmypast he also appears in the 1861 census away from his family as a 13yr-old cattleboy on Upper Eastside Farm, Maryculter.
He seems to be the only George Gibb born around that time in Kincardineshire.

Civil registration began in Scotland in 1855, so if he was born 1855 or later his birth certificate will be available on the pay-to-view site ScotlandsPeople.

If the George Gibb at Berryhill in 1851 is the right one, his parents were George Gibb and Ann and he was born at Fetteresso in 1848.
