Hi
We are not supposed to look for 1911. Familysearch has a free name index but there are 10 James Morris living in Leicester various ages.

Hi ciderdrinker, thankyou for your rapid reply and my apologies I did not realise. It is James Douglas Morris a widower at that time. His wife was Louisa Jane . James was born 1856 and none of his children are alive.

You can find the family, but not the full details, on http://www.1911census.co.uk/
Search on the last name of Morris (don't give first name) and the place of residence as Buckingham Street, Leicester
This will list the names but you will have to pay for a transcription or image.
The name is transcribed incorrectly on the usual web sites

Well done Rosie!
Good spot!! ;D ;D
-
Thankyou for trying kgarrard much appreciated.
-
It's Rosie you should be thanking! ;D
I failed!! ::)
In these situations, I usually look for the youngest child (as their age is unlikely to change much), but I couldn't find Dinah, as she has been transcribed as Dinia!
I then switched to the older children - but Rosie replied before I could.

You found the correct family kgarrad so not a failure . I appreciate everyone's help so another thankyou to rosie who has helped me before . My disabilities prevent me from using a computer,and it is so frustrating when I can't access basic sites that I need by phone. Good job I did my research pre computer lol.
