Dear all, I am trying to find out about Leonard Oswin who was born at Ponton in 1900- 1901. I know he died in 1967. Please can anyone help me.

If this is Leonard and he was born in Great Ponton, there's a good chance he wouldn't have been born at the time of the census :

Providing I'm not wrong, he doesn't appear to be with the rest of his family - who were living in the household of a George Welbourn in Great Ponton at the time :
RG13/3052, Folio 142, Page 1.

He wasn't ... he wasn't born at 1901 census, as already suggested. His mother was "keeping house" for Welborn in 1891 too.

On the other hand trish1120, there is still James H OSWIN in Grantham in 1901 (Notts in 1911) for whom no obvious marriage exists ... and the fact that he was missing in 1891. I think he'd done a runner. ;)

Different Dinah - Dinah HALES was 29 in 1881, Dinah OSWIN was 22 in 1891.
Dinah HALES may have had a missing husband in 1881, but that's another story. ;)

has a large write up about ... Great Ponton Horticultural show.
at the bottom it mentions, hand bouquet of wild flowers for under 7 year olds,
Leonard Oswin.

I am 8 years late to this thread, but long story short, when Dinah Oswin, his first wife finally died in 1908, James Henry Oswin married Charlotte Musson, his common law wife.
Their daughter Rose Ellen Oswin Musson, born 1898, was my grandmother.
