Hello,
I am seeking further data on Robert, his death cert records:Robert Paul,Pauper,Single, died at:Combination Poor House,Dumbarton,28th May 1876,aged 76 yrs,no Parents given on SP cert, marked as unnown.
Found Robert with his Family listed in:1871,1861.1851 .census at Drumbeg Farm,Killearn,recorded:Deaf/Dumb/Blind,listed as "Uncle" to the Head,John Paul,43 yrs on the 1871 census.
Suspect his burial in the "Paul"Drumbeg Grave in "The Old Kirkyard".Killearn,M.I.Flat Stone records:Robert Paul, died 23?/May 1876,aged 76,a total of 5 people listed,4 of which I have 100% knowhow of.
His Parents may have been from Dumbarton Parish, related to Walter Paul/Margaret(Peggy)Watson.
Can anyone assist please.

CaroleW,
Many thanks for your speedy reply, yes have searched IGI,a number of Parents may be considered<Margaret Watson,Walter Paul, seem to be the considered choice, apart from the 1871 census stating Robert was "UNCLE to the Head,John Paul,43yrs who was born of Walter/Margaret Watson, the not a Uncle.
Seems I cannot obtain thr Poor house records on line which may give some info.???.
Regards,
James

Hi
apart from the 1871 census stating Robert was "UNCLE to the Head,John Paul,43yrs who was born of Walter/Margaret Watson, the not a Uncle.
1871 - John Paul was b 1828 Killearn Stirling
1871- Robert Paul born 1801 Helpston Dunbartonshire
FS shows Walter Paul & Margaret Watson were baptising children in Killearn from 1788 - 40yrs before John Paul was born in 1828 so I think it is highly unlikely we are seeing the same set of parents for John as for that particular Robert Paul b 1803 Dunbartonshire
However - the entry I think you are looking at in 1803 is not the one I was looking at

Robert son of Walter/Margaret Watson was b in East Kilpatrick 11 OCT 1803 but he died 21 May 1885 in Killearn.
Then there was Robert b 1797 Robert/Mary Gardiner in East Kilpatrick, And, in 1801 a Robert was born in Dumbarton to James/Margaret Brook.

Hello DonM,
Many thanks for your mail, note your input comments:
1/Robert,son of Walter/Margaret Watson,born,11th Oct 1803,D-21st May 1885,the Robert Paul who died on this date was MY G/G Father,he was Baptised 19th Feb 1804,parents:Walter and Margaret (Peggy)Watson, names on SP,death cert
Walter and Margaret had another ROBERT baptised on the day you recorded:11th Oct 1803,what I do not understand is TWO Robert,s,(same Parents),possible the 1803 child died,or this child was born in 1802,baptised before it died and my G/G Father was named Robert following death of the earlier Robert, have you a view on this?.
The Robert Paul I am seeking:Died 23rd May 1876,burial in Killearn,date on M.I.Stone
He was /Dumb/Blind,listed as this on 1871/1861/1851 census docs,Drumbeg Farm,Killearn.
I think he was born to :James Paul/Margaret Brook,BORN:9th March 1801,Baptised 15th March,I have the SP cert to hand.
Look forward to yur comments.
Regards,
James
