There are three Tice's on Kelso War Memorial,
George William and John.
George was Royal Scots, William was KOSB, but there is no John on the SNWM website.
CWGC & SDGW has a John Arthur Tice, but i can find no connection to Kelso or Roxburghshire for him.
John Tice ,age 4 and a William age 2, appears on the 1891 census.
I can find no reference to John Tice, at least online, to any military service.
All help greatly appreciated

Sorted, found his death on Scotlands People
John Tice, 38961, RAMC.

So why was he not listed by CWGC etc? I see he died in 1919. That date still qualifies him for CWGC status, so perhaps he had been discharged because of a long term illness from which he died but the locals had more relaxed criteria for inclusion on the war memorial. But if he has been overlooked by CWGC- it happened occasionally - then you could approach the CWGC about recording him.

He died of carcenoma of the stomach, which I suppose is natural causes, at Bangour Hospital near Edinburgh
He has no medal index card, that I can find on Ancestry, so it doesn't look like he served overseas.
The body may have been returned to the family for private burial.
Anyone know of a burial register for Kelso.

Medal index card found and he did serve overseas Date of Entry therein 8.7.1915

I suppose it just depends if he was still enlisted when he died to be included on CWGC.
If he was you could contact them and say you have an uncommemorated soldier....or you could contact the "in from the cold project" which do this sort of thing.

I think this is an error
The CWGC entry is for a John Arthur Tice
http://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/casualty/459481/TICE,%20JOHN%20ARTHUR
As far as I can see this man, his family or ancestors never went anywhere near Scotland let alone
Kelso.
The real John Tice was i believe William Tice's brother, scotlandspeople.gov records bear this out

Do you have any dates and places of birth?
