Title: Any information about John H Kinsman who married in Bournemouth in 1930
Post by: selwynfroggitt on Tuesday 24 September 13 13:07 BST (UK)
John H Kinsman married Ada Elizabeth Groves and they had 2 children born in Poole in 1932.
It seems that one of them Alan J Kinsman died in Salisbury on 7 February 2009.
I know nothing about John H Kinsman other than the marriage and hope that someone may be able to help me to find out who he was etc

Just realised that is probably too old for him, maybe his father?

I think the John H Kinsman b.c.1864 died 1937 - had a wife named Susan and kept a boarding house in Bournemouth
maybe he was a widower who married Ada Elizabeth -if so he would have been mid 60's when he married Ada Elizabeth???

Purchase of marriage cert would give father's name and occ -and tell if he was a widower or bachelor -and of course age
without that we are just guessing

Isn't that 1864 John a bit old to be fathering 2 children after 1932?

It's possible - my Grandfather was 62 when my father was born (Gran was 47 -but they did have a lodger!!!!)
I don't think John H Kinsman and Susan had any children

I believe men can father children well into their old age. Rod Stewart was 66, Steve Martin 67, Charlie Chaplin 73 and Robert DeNiro  68 to name a few.  ;D ;D ;D I agree though, possibly not likely. If it was him, Ada must have been much younger and was left to bring up a young family.

I did laugh at the 'lodger' comment  ;D ;D ;D

If it is the right John H,then as he didn't have any children with Susan he must have been saving up all his......err....energies to have the two from 1932 to 1937!

Ada would be in her mid thirties when she married -so it wasn't exactly a teenage girl marrying a granddad - maybe they both wanted children

Maybe Ada went to work at the boarding house -also Susan left a considerable amount of money to John - so John might have been considered to be a "catch"

Marriage cert def needed on this one

Thank you for looking and for the information.. I have the Groves family  Ada's son son John Henry Kinsman Groves who was born 10 March 1919 in  Christchurch died in Neath in 1997.
John Henry Kinsman Groves 1919 ?? yes she later married a John H Kinsman, probably John Henry Kinsman who ran Heathercliffe Boarding House as his wife died 22 Sep 1930...
I have checked for any John H Kinsman but did not consider any prior to 1880..
I think that it will be him but as previously mentioned  certificate needed.
Yes looks like twins but the other one may be alive so I have not stated his name
Thanks again
