I would really appreciate a lookup in the 1861 census at Scorby, York, pobably Limefield Farm, Stamford Bridge for
Christopher COULSON 1803 Normanby
Ann [daughter] 1857 Scorby
also living with them could be Christopher's sister
Tomlinson COULSON 1811 Normanby
I have them on the 1871 census
Thanks

This is the only information i have Stephen (1775) married Elizabeth Bennison (1784- 1872) she was born in Thwing, Yorkshire. They had 7 children born from 1817 to 1826.
Stephens parents were : John and Elizabeth Bennison. They had 4 children (including Stephen) born from 1769- 1775. They had twin boys born in July 1773

For Sande......
Scoreby isn't exactly in Stamford Bridge, Scoreby Lane starts on the Stamford Bridge side of Gate Helmsley on the A166 and runs for quite a while. It is a narrow tarmac road and quite a way down there is another lane called Intake lane that branches off. Just a short way down Intake lane is Limefield farm which is presumably where your ancestors lived.....
Here is a photo of the sign for the farm at least from Google Street view.....
If you look at the map in satellite form and zoom in on the building marked P. Wilkinsons and Sons then that is the farm in question....

Thanks Mc for that infomation and the picture. Looks nice and green. I live in Australia so have no idea on the area at all. I guess they woud have had cattle. There were a few butchers in the Coulson line. In fact Christopher was one before he moved down to Limefield Farm from Hovingham. They seemed to move down there around the 1830's.
Best wishes
Sande
