Title: family bible offered - COTTLE, LANE, BARNETT, WRIDE, GARDNER, HELPS, GRIEVESON
Post by: familydar on Tuesday 08 October 13 10:41 BST (UK)
I volunteer at a charity shop and we have received a large family bible in a donation.  It was given as an xmas present by a father to his daughter a few months before her marriage in 1908 at Bath Abbey (Somerset, England).  There are various BMDs in the front which relate in the main to that daughter and her descendents.

Surnames are
COTTLE
LANE
BARNETT
WRIDE
GARDNER
HELPS
GRIEVESON

If you recognise the names and would like the bible it can be yours in exchange for a donation, so please either post here or pm me.  If necessary we can post/courier it.  If there is no family interest it will go in the shop, but probably won't make much (if anything) because we are "out of area" and the bible isn't in terribly good condition.

Hello
Although the bible has probably gone, I have recently discovered that I have a link with the Cottle family of Bath. If it is still available, would it be possible to check for John, Lawrence and Jane Cottle in the early 1700s? If there is a link, I would be happy to make a donation.
Thank you
Dave

Hi Dave, bible has long gone, but I did take some snaps.  Rather more recent than the dates you're hoping for I suspect, but here's the best one.

Happy new year

Jane :-)
