Trying to find Sarah on 1881 and 1891 census.
Sarah married in 1868 a John Dunn they had two daughters both names Agatha after her mother both children died quite young. They also had a son Thomas born 1872 .
In 1871 she is living with John in Gardeners Cresc. Edinburgh he is a grocer .
After that they disappear but she then turns up in 1901 census as a visitor in Linlithgow also living in the house is Francis Ord Mickel a boarder who I believe is her brother .
Thanks

Hi Midlad,
Are Sarah's husband John and her son Thomas with her on the 1901 when she shows up as a visitor at Linlithgow? Also who is she visiting? Is it another relative? And lastly(sorry for all the questions ;D ) do you have Sarah's death certificate, does she die in Scotland?
Just wondering if the couple emigrated and Sarah came home on a visit.
Looby :)

Hi looby,
No neither John or Thomas are with her .
I think the James L.Mickel is her brother and his lodger Francis is definitely her brother.
Sorry haven't been able to find a death cert for her.
Thanks.

Hello Midlad,
Had a look on ancestry and Francis Ord Mickel seems to have crossed the Atlantic a few times(perhaps you know this already), the last I could find was 1923.

Sorry Midlad, noticed a typo, read 1928 for 1923, with his wife Grace.

Sarah's husband John disappears from the Post Office Directories in 1880. They had moved to 8 Morrison Street with the shop at 152 Rose Street.

Hi,
Thank you all for your help I have just no idea at all what has happened to to them.
Tried SP for John's death but nothing that could be him .
I did have Francis going back and forward to America I wonder if Sarah and John went there
to.
Thanks again

They moved to South Africa to set up a business there.
I have photos of them (and the children) taken in Cape Town, South Africa if you like.

Just noticed the first post in this thread.
There were two daughters named Agatha but the second survived. Agatha Aitken Lizars Mickel Dunn (1870 - 1871) and Agatha Aitken Lizars Dunn, no Mickel this time (14 May 1874).
Here is Agatha, alive and well in Cape Town.

...and Thomas Dunn. Hello sailor.

Working through some of the people mentioned. Have two photos of Francis, who was indeed the brother.
