Citing this Record:
"England and Wales Census, 1901," index, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/XSZ6-FM5 : accessed 08 Nov 2013), Sydney Manion, 31 Mar 1901.
His family moved to Liverpool from the Warwickshire area pre-1871 and he was born in Liverpool c. 1874 however, until now, I've had little luck in tracing him.

Many thanks Liz!!
So..the boy made good! He's been eluding me for years, and previously could only find him at the lastest on the 1891 Census where he was a pupil at an industrial school, seemingly separated from his family.
Thanks again.

1901 census
RG13; Piece: 2874; Folio: 122; Page: 34.
Surname transcribed as Marion , He's a school master , residing with Robert Batchelor and family
Can't see him on any other census , as Manion , so I suspect he's been mistranscribed on earlier records

Do you need the 1881 census for him ?
-
Many thanks Jan,
Having just performed a quick search, I think the address should be Neschells Park Road??
I have him on the 1881 Census (And have a copy-thanks) residing in Liverpool as a five year old with his family and on the 1891 Census as previously stated in Kirkdale Industrial School for Boys, Liverpool (if my memory serves me right...)
