Title: Alexander Deans
Post by: Cathiemay on Wednesday 04 December 13 18:50 GMT (UK)
Hi ,
Has anyone ever came across Alexander Deans, he married Agnes Waddell born 1863 in Scotland. Two of their daughters were born at Melrose, Isabella  1796 & Margaret 1802.  Only trace I can find of Agnes Waddell (Deans) is in 1841 census, she is living with daughter Margaret (now Mrs  Alexander Boyd) at Pathhead, Crichton Midlothian, I take it Alexander has died by then.  I can find no trace of Alexander , on Isabella's death cert he is shown as  a farm servant.
                            regards Cathiemay

"Agnes Waddell born 1863 in Scotland"
This must be a "typo" as this would be later than the birth of her children. Should this be 1763?
Have you located a marriage date (approx). When did Isabella die?

Richard

Hi Richard.
Thank you for your reply.  Agnes Waddel birth should read 1763 instead of 1863. Sorry my mistake. I can't find her marriage or death on Scotlands people so far. But I take it she must have died before 1851 census.  Can't find any trace of Alexander Deans on S.P either. Did find an Alexander Deans on S.P who died  at Leith Edinburgh about 1843, but it wasn't him. It  was a young boy.  I will keep looking for them in the hope I find them sometime.
