Post by: Dannemois on Thursday 12 December 13 16:37 GMT (UK)
Can someone please do a look-up on the 1891 census for Israel Williams, born circa 1856, Rhymney, with wife Margaret, and son, Abraham, 1885, both born in Pontlottyn.
Thanks

I really don't know what to make of her birthplace.  It does look like Hyde Park America, but I do have the feeling it could be an error  Will try to post an extract

You had her birthplace spot on; here is a reply off the American board:
Ann(ie) was born on 13th August, 1879 Hyde Park, Lakawana, Pennsylvania - parents Isaac Williams and Margaret Morgan

Excellent. I certainly couldn't find them on the 1881 Welsh Census.

Cardiff Times  6 December 1902

Hann, manager, stated that defendant went on duty at 5 p.m.. and when witness went round about 10 p.m. he found him asleep on a bench. Defendant awoke about 20 minutes later, and no entry had been made in the ventilation book for the previous hour. Defendant, who said his rest had been, broken through illness at home and regret, was fined 40s, or 14 days' in Division II.

There's also some articles on an Israel Williams, grocer of Pontlottyn, being made bankrupt in 1886
