Title: William Mc Cullock Hanley
Post by: Marpatch on Tuesday 17 December 13 13:36 GMT (UK)
I'm looking for William Mc Cullock Hanley born 1842 Wigtonshire, I believe that he married Helen Kirk.I have them on 1911 Census and William on 1851 Census as step son to Jean and John Cairnie.
Any help on his family would be appreciated. Also Helens family Andrew Kirk born 1807 Inch and wife Margaret born 1801.

Hi Marpatch and Ev  :)

Not sure what you may have already as background. A little more here http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/d/a/l/Stacey-Dale-Queensland/WEBSITE-0001/UHP-0130.html  Just click on individual names for further details (as far as this person has researched and added here).

If the info on the above link I added is correct, his mother's surname was McCulloch. Common to use surnames for children's middle names. It may be that the name William connects to his mother's side. Depending on how much detail you want for this research, you could follow up and confirm details further via BMDs or parish register entries here www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk
