Does anybody have any idea where this house could be? It's in a family collection with some other photographs from the Cottisford/Hethe area in Oxfordshire but I've driven around this area and not been able to find it.
If anybody has any ideas, I'd really appreciate it.

Yes - the off centre windows do look the same. And actually the window on the "castle-style' bit also looks the same, just that wall has been extended upwards.
Thank you ever so much for your help :)

Hi, is it me, or can you still make out the dis-coloured brickwork at the side of the off centre window's? :-\
Frank.

This thread caught my eye yesterday and I am amazed to see that the mystery is solved. How on earth you found it Mo I'll never know.
Beautiful house, stunning location, wonderful old photo - it lifts my heart to see that it still exists, is well cared for, and is a listed building. (I am a sucker for old buildings)
Fascinating! :)

Thank you Jan for that link. It's very interesting and confirms Mo's amazing find.
I agree Ruskie - it is amazing how Mo managed to solve the mystery. It is wonderful that it still exists - despite some alterations. It's a different story with Tusmore Park where the ancestor who took this picture worked for a while. Tusmore Park was demolished in 1960 and rebuilt, and then again in 2000: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tusmore,_Oxfordshire#Tusmore_Park http://viewfinder.english-heritage.org.uk/search/detail.aspx?uid=83932

Interestingly, I also have a photograph in the collection of Cottisford Old Rectory which is the next building west of the Old Manor Farmhouse in the original picture.

You have some lovely photos - lucky you :)
Old Manor Farmhouse is beautiful. I would love to have the chance to explore it looking for original features and the way it has changed over the years, I'm sure the present occupants wouldn't mind ::) ;D

Oh YES, Jan. I would love that too! I like nothing more than poking around old buildings. :)
