Title: Help finding long lost cousin
Post by: Tom Langley on Saturday 21 December 13 20:45 GMT (UK)
Hello, i wondering if anyone may be able to help me find more information on the family of Ronald Knox. He was born in 1931 Saskatchewan, Canada. He married a lady called Anita, and had a daughter.
His parents were called Frederick and Rose, and were immigrants from England.
He was apparently in the navy.
Id basically like to find out the full names and birth years etc of his wife, daughter and any other children he might have.

Hope someone can help!
Tom

This site has deaths for a Rose Ellen Knox and her husband Frederick in Victoria, B.C.
There are passenger records for Frederick and Rose E. and 2 children arriving in Canada in 1928 and then Rose Ellen returned to England for a visit and there is a record of her reentry back into Canada and heading to her home in Battleford, Saskatchewan.

The information you are looking for - current dates of birth etc. - are protected by privacy laws in Canada and are not readily available.  Also there are no central registries kept in Canada.  Vital statistics is the responsibility of each province and territory and rules as to release of information varies but generally births are protected for 100 years, marriages 80 and deaths 70.

If the above deaths are yours the entire family might have moved to British Columbia.  You can try Canada 411 for phone numbers and addresses.

From viewing Tom's family tree online it appears he has quite a bit of information about Frederick and Rose Ellen so we may want to concentrate on Ronald to avoid duplication unless Tom asks otherwise.

Tom, you likely already have this but the Canada Voters List has the couple together in 1957 but by 1962 they are listed at separate addresses. He was listed with Frederick and Rose in 1962, 1965 and 1968. His middle name is listed as George in one of the entries.

Presume this gentleman may have passed away now, since there are no further entries in Canadian in the phone and addresses index since 2002 - possibly 2005. Just trying to open up this enquiry a little more Tom.

On the death cert for his Mother Rose Knox who died in Victoria BC 27 July 1980 - Mrs Evelyn M Knox (daughter-in-law) was the informant.  Have you traced anything further on Evelyn or husband Carlos Knox ? Both living at 947 Dunsmuir Street in 1965/74 ?  (Have answered this question now)

You may have seen the obit for Carlos John Knox now - born 18 June 1921 and passed away September 29, 2009. Mentions all his children but no brother  ??? If you have come across the obit - have you tried to trace the children mentioned  ???

The obit for Evelyn May Knox - doesn't help either. No mention of her brother-in-law.

Evelyn - January 3, 1925 - June 23, 2012
