There are nine Monument Inscriptions for Murie in Greyfriars Cemetery, but none mention George Murie. Does George have relations in Perth?

Thank u List for the invaluable link to the burials at Greyfriars
I spent New Year's Day looking at those burials and come to the conclusion that the Leleas and George buried there cannot be the parents of my William - too old:(
Would love to hook up with John Scott Murie but can't find the match
I guess I need to look at a cemetery in Dundee where he died - is that the same link?
Any suggestions as to names of possible cemeteries would be great
Thanks again for your help

Can you provide a little more information - date of death, name of wife etc?

William MURIE b 1802 Perth d 1872 Clyde Canal drowning married 1833, Dundee
Helen/Ellen Crosser/Corser DONALD b 1811 Dundee d 1891 Glasgow
I believe Helen's parents were James DONALD and Mary CROSS/CROSSER
I am looking for William's parents..........
Thank u for your help

What does William's death certificate say? You can access that for a small fee from www.ScotlandsPeople.gov.uk

I have the dc - it gives no parents - wife is Helen DONALD and informant is son, Alexander.
Cause of death is drowning - with a correction record that says death was immediate - no doctor saw the body

Is David Kinnear Murie, born Dundee, 4th August 1834, your William's son?
The 1851 census Kincardineshire has a William K. Murray born Perth 1801.
If this is also the same William, his mother may be a Kinnear

David Kinnear Murie is William and Helen's son - he is named for David Kinnear who married Helen's great aunt (Helen's mother's sister) quite late in life - they had no children
Helen's mother was Mary CROSS/CROSSER/CORSER - this maiden name comes down the descendent line as does the last name DONALD and CURRIE - all maiden names of various women in the family
My problem arises with my ggrandmother Jessie Scott MURIE - I was looking for the Scott in the family when I realized that the parents I had for William were not correct and his dc did not help me at all - now everyone is in disarray
-
Sorry I'm not following this .......
a) Is your great grandmother Jessie Scott Murie the daughter of John Scott Murie, or are you hoping that there is a link?
b) How is she related to William Murie and Helen Donald?

From SP:
George Muirie(note spelling) and Lillias Taylor had William Muirie in Perth in 1802.
Second son of William Murie and Helen Donald was born George Murie in Dundee in 1837.
Seems a reasonable fit

It seems every January I loop around to George Murie and Lilias Taylor:) To answer the questions above (a year late) Jessie Scott Murie is the granddaughter of William Murie b 1802 - the daughter of William and Helen's son Alexander Murie.
I believe that my William is the William born to George Murie and Lilias Taylor in Perth in 1802. There is a marriage between a George Murie and a Lilias Taylor recorded in Perth in 1793.....possibly the same guys
I am trying to find the parents of both George and Lilias which is why I am hunting around in Greyfriars Cemetery.....it seems that George and Lilias may have lost two children in infancy: Mary and John are both buried at Greyfriars...perhaps George and Lilias are as well........is a lookup available at this cemetery thx Marcella
