I am trying to find the grave of Mary Gavin who died 03 Dec 1941 in Ireland, Galway, Ballinasloe, she lived in a townland called Ballygreany which is close to Ballymacward. I don't know if she died at home or in the hospital. Could someone tell me if there are any records in Ireland that would help me trace her burial.

Unfortunately, Irish death certificates do not list place of burial. Sometimes there is a newspaper notice which gives funeral arrangements.
Was Mary married? if so could she have been buried with her husband? or is unmarried, with her parents?

Thanks for the reply, she was not married or if she was I cant find any marriage records, I do have her death cert but as you have said it does not give any whereabouts of her burial. I have had no luck with the old newspapers, if she did die in the Ballinasloe hospital have you any idea where they would have buried her back in 1941?

If she was last of immediate family then maybe no-one to put her details on headstone or a death notice in paper. No dea about possible burial locations in Ballinasloe area but someone else here might know.

Thanks again, will keep everything crossed and hope someone knows.

Kerrill
maybe you should ask for this to be moved to the Galway board.
(I know it's about a grave, but perhaps local knowledge might help?)
