Hi!
Can anyone help with the ancestry of the following?
I have a Thomas Irving (sometimes spelt as Urwin, Irvin etc) marrying Dorothy Fearon on 26th November 1755 at Crosscanonby. They moved to Flimby and had the following issue:
George Irving, buried 11 September 1762 Bridechurch (Bridekirk?)
George Irving baptised 10 October 1762 Flimby
Hannah Irving baptised 7 October 1763 Flimby
Jane Irving baptised 10 July 1768 Flimby
I think Dorothy Fearon may be the one baptised at Bridekirk on 24 September 1732, daughter of Joseph Fearon, and she was buried at Flimby on 27 October 1787?
Any help much appreciated! :D

Hi Marg,
Thomas Irving and Dorothy Fearon parents if possible! I found a large number of Fearon children for Joseph all baptised at Bridekirk:
Jane 1724, John 1726, Elizabeth 1728, Thomas 1730, Dorothy 1732, Hannah 1735, Mary 1737, Eleanor 1738, Joseph 1742 and William 1744.
The only marriage I can find for a Joseph Pearson is that to an Elliner Woodvill at Loweswater on 1 September 1728 which is after the birth of the first child (however it may be Josephs second marriage?).
Familysearch gives and Eleanor Woodvill born 9 February 1711 at Pardshaw, daughter of a William and Sarah Woodvill, but also lists her as being buried 21 January 1735 at Pardshaw ( I think the family may have been Quakers?).
Any help much appreciated! Thanks, Andrew :)

Hi Andrew
A couple points before I go start digging
Do you have the Georges the wrong way round, as you have him buried before he was born
Also you have Joseph PEARSON marrying Elliner Woodvill

Hi Andrew
I have looked your research, the first thing I have noted, is if Eleanor Woodvill was b 1711, she would have been, 13, when Jane was born 1724, and, 15, when John was born 1726, so I don't think she is there mother, and Elizabeth b 1728 is questionable, so Eleanor may be his second wife.
Joseph may be some years older then Eleanor, have you looked at the original parish marriage to see if there is any additional information.

Hi Marg,
Thanks for replying! Much appreciated! The first Gorge definitely was buried a month before the second George was born, but I don't know the first Georges birth date? The Flimby records I found online so that is the only way of me checking I 'm afraid.
As Thomas Irving and Dorothy married in 1755, there may well be other children born before George and the others I haven't found. Also as the surname is often spelt in different ways - Irwing, Urwin, Irving, Irvin etc, this doesn't help either!
Really grateful for you help! Thanks, Andrew :)
Also the IGI gives Elliner Woodvill as marrying Joseph Pearson and also Joseph Fearon, so I may be on the wrong line totally!
