Hi all
I am looking for a marriage of a Caleb Walker around the year 1878 in the Channel Islands. I am not sure if the marriage took place there but I have looked into English records but no luck. He married a Mary Ann born 1856 in Guernsey. Caleb lived in Lancashire and Kent and was in the military.
Thanking you

Do you have a copy of one of their childrens birth certs showing Mary's maiden name

Hi CaroleW
No I do not have any certificates. I have just found a marriage of Caleb and a Mary Ann Earnshaw 1883 in Yorkshire. I have 1 child born 1884 in Lancashire. With this information would there be any records for the birth of Mary Ann around 1856?
Thanks

I am looking for a marriage of a Caleb Walker around the year 1878 in the Channel Islands.
This gives the impression that a child was born around 1879/80
The Caleb Walker who married in 1883 was aged 23 -occ joiner - father Emmanuel - occ joiner & builder
Mary Ann Earnshaw was aged 20 - father John (deceased) occ cotton spinner
Looking at the 1891 entry - Mary was b 1862 Brighouse Yorkshire so I doubt this is the right marriage
It would help if you could give some details about your Caleb & Mary and their children as I cannot find a Mary Walker b Guernsey.
Where and when was Caleb born?
Names/birthplaces and birthyears of their children

Hi CaroleW
Thank you for your reply. I am after the census details for Caleb Walker born 1845 in Kent and Mary Ann Walker born 1856 in Guernsey.
I am after the 1891 at Hayfield Glossop Derbyshire
1901 at Plumstead London
1911 at Woolwich only Mary Ann as Caleb died in Woolwich in 1907
The only child I have is a Caleb born in 1884 in Lancashire. With the details of the censuses I might find more children.
Thanking you

Hi KGarrard
Thank you for the replies. I got my information on Caleb's birth from the 1881 census where he was at the Lancaster barracks born in Kent. I know that a son Caleb was with his Mother in 1911 but with the information you gave me there was another child.
Thanks

Not sure if you have Caleb's birth?
I couldn't find Caleb Walker registered in Evesham?
BUT . . . . . there is this:
March qtr 1844
Evesham district vol 18, page 408
Osborn, Caleb
Looks like he was an illegitimate birth?
